Goalscorers: Campbell (12' minutes, 21' minutes)

Head coach Thomas Frank has admitted he is concerned about Brentford's form after Hull City handed the Bees their eighth defeat in 10 games.

Fraizer Campbell's first-half double saw Brentford's slide down the Championship continue, with the London club having picked up four points from a possible 30 since previous boss Dean Smith's departure.

"We are worried - if you only win one in 10, that's clear," Frank said. "We need to look at ourselves, but you can see the effort they put in. We need to minimise the defensive mistakes and errors.

"You can't ensure anything in the world, but I am 100% sure that me, the players and the coaching staff will do everything we can to turn it around. One win will do massively."

Relive Saturday's EFL action as it happened

Campbell's two goals gave Hull just a third home win of the season, lifting them above Brentford to 17th in the table.

As with the majority of their defeats since Frank took over following Smith's move to Aston Villa, the Bees - winless on their league travels this season - were far from outplayed but failed to make the most of their chances.

Before the loss at the KCOM Stadium, all of Brentford's previous seven defeats under their Danish head coach had been by a solitary goal.

"We definitely made mistakes but the small margins didn't drop to our side," Frank added.

"We created opportunities but we didn't play quick enough, and with the sharpness of that quality when we are on a high."

Hull goalkeeper David Marshall saved well from Nico Yennaris after Campbell's early double and Bees substitute Moses Odubajo drilled inches wide after the break.

But Said Benrahma wasted the visitors' best opportunity, firing over from 12 yards as Brentford's poor record against the Tigers - five defeats in their past eight meetings now - went on.

Hull, meanwhile, have lost just once in their past eight matches to put a poor start to the season behind them with 31-year-old Campbell scoring six goals during that run.

Hull boss Nigel Adkins:

"That was a very good, professional performance. Brentford are an excellent side who pass the ball around really well.

"Yes, we defended deep, but we defended really well. And if we tried to play expansive it might have been a different scoreline.

"We have showed there's different ways to win a game of football."
