The Essex-based AmDTuning.com squad has raced in the BTCC since 2010, with team owner Shaun Hollamby racing the squad’s Volkswagen Golf Mk5. For 2011 the team signed Tom Onslow-Cole, however a split between team and driver at Oulton Park saw Hollamby and Martin Byford conclude the season.

For 2012, the BTCC’s sole VW Golf was piloted by Ollie Jackson, who scored points in all but two of the race meetings contested. Most recently AmDTuning.com found a new challenge in the BTCC, contesting the Jack Sears Trophy element of the 2013 season for teams running the older S2000 specification cars. Scoring several class victories in the early part of the season with BTCC stalwart James Kaye, the long-serving Golf was given an apt send-off at the Brands Hatch finale, as Shaun Hollamby took the car to class victory in the first race of the day.

A new challenge awaits the squad from Thurrock in 2014, as it takes the step up to NGTC machinery, with its newly-acquired Ford Focus to be driven by race winning driver Dave Newsham.

The company was formed in 1987, specialising in the Volkswagen-Audi marque, forming their own VW-backed race team in 1990. They went on to win many championships with AmD-built and tuned Volkswagen Golfs. The company now offers tuning parts for most European cars.

For the 2008 & 2009 season AmD ran SEAT Leóns in the Dunlop Sportmaxx Cup and won the championship in 2009, with Simon Shaw driving.
