Description Available in: The globally leading refiner of Volkswagen group vehicles is a family enterprise based in Germany’s Allgäu region that is run by Jürgen Abt, today. Apart from Audi Sport Team Joest in the sports-prototype area, it has been the longest-standing and most successful Audi works team. From 2000 to 2003, the squad raced in DTM as independent team with the Abt-Audi TT-R and won the title in 2002. Some 50 staff members attend to the squad’s four Audis RS 5 DTM. To allow for a perfect preparation of their racing cars, Abt opened a 2,400-squaremetre motor-sport centre in Kempten, last year, that also is used by Audi for preparing the new Audi Sport TT Cup.
