Hull Stingrays were a British ice hockey club from Kingston upon Hull who was a member of the Elite Ice Hockey League from 2003 until 2015. They played their home games at Hull Arena.
The Stingrays replaced previous clubs Humberside Seahawks (1988–1999) and Hull Thunder (1999–2003). On 10 August 2010, owners Mike & Sue Pack announced that the club was ceasing operations due to a lack of funds to complete the 2010–11 season, but a takeover by Elite League rivals Coventry Blaze was confirmed on 17 August 2010, enabling the team to take its place in the Elite League for the 2010–11 season. At the end of the 2011–12 season Coventry Blaze announced their intention to sell the Stingrays. The Coventry-based ownership accepted an offer from Stingrays' bench coach Bobby McEwan in May 2012. On 24 June 2015, the club announced on its official website that it has been placed into liquidation

Hull Arena (originally Humberside Ice Arena) is an ice rink, in the city of Kingston upon Hull, England. It has a capacity of 3,750 people. The Hull Arena, commonly known by local people as the Hull Ice Arena is popular with local people for ice skating as it is the only ice arena in the area that is open to the public with the next local ice rink being located in Grimsby and Doncaster. Ice Skating is very popular with the teenagers of Kingston upon Hull with the Arena getting large attendances on its Disco sessions, especially on its Friday Disco, this gets around 800 people to the session alone. The Hull Arena also holds a freestyle Dance off During its Disco sessions where the best skaters are allowed to show off their skills in front of the attendees.
The Hull Arena is also known as a great concert venue and many big names have headlined at the Hull Arena over the years.
It has an Olympic sized rink of 60 metres (200 ft) x 30 metres (98 ft).
Ice Hockey The Hull Arena is the home of all Ice Hockey teams within the city including the Elite League Side of the Hull Stingrays who play games most weeks at the Hull Arena with most games being held on a Sunday Night. .
Concerts The arena has hosted concerts by many famous artists, including Arctic Monkeys, Faithless, Keane, Kings of Leon, Lostprophets, Morrissey, Oasis, Stereophonics, Biffy Clyro, Robbie Williams and is due to host Ed Sheeran in November 2012.
Darts The Hull Arena also played host to the WINMAU World Masters 2011 Darts.
Boxing The Arena hosts Boxing events for the Matchroom Boxing promotions stable with Hull boxers Luke Campbell and Tommy Coyle headlining fights on 2 November 2013 and 22 February 2014. It was previously used to hold such events in April 1997, March 1998 and June 1998 with boxers including Paul Ingle, Clinton Woods, Howard Eastman and Scott Harrison taking part in bills at the arena.
