I have added the player, linked their API number, and refreshed the lineup. | ||

zag Posts: 3,331 Joined: 2020-03-23 | Thanks yes I did a batch update of the player ids which used a fuzzy name match. There may be a few wrongly identified players but not many. If you find any, please do fix by removing from the lineup and deleting the APIfootball player ID in the player edit screen. Even better if you can find or create the correct player and update the ID  I think I already fixed the above but there may be some more. | ||

Yes, I have been slowly writing some Python functions to continue to automate my contributions. I have been using Google Sheets to parse the information I want to contribute and pass that information is a .csv to my Python functions. I have also been spending way too much time on this site which is why it seems fast too lol. For adding players this is how I currently have it set up: - Create .csv file with as much details on that player as source has and add column for player image url - add_player function will loop through each record and do the following: - Add name, dob, position, and nationality - Enter additional player details available - Retrieve the player's thumbnail image from the image address - Crop the largest square (center for wide images, top for tall images) - Resize image to 700x700 - Then have the code select the new image from my files and upload it! I also have functions for adding future events, adding past events w/ scores, logging in to the site, padding badges (instead of stretching), and saving jerseys and trying to make them transparent (not perfect yet). When doing this I just have to be extra careful there are no mistakes before clicking go and mass adding to the site. If anyone has any requests I can try to focus on greencheck marking that league as I don't have much of a preference. I can also run the code for anyone that wants to help prepare the .csv. I imagine there are a ton of other coders using this site who can help contribute to the functions and make them even better and create some new ones! Adding the team artwork like banners, fan art, etc. has been manual so far, but that would probably be the next thing I try to work on. A league like the Adriatic ABA was very difficult to find images for, but I found their Facebook pages were the best sources. That is also where I usually find the highest quality badge for lesser known teams, just have to make the background transparent.
