Frenkie de Jong (born 12 May 1997) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for La Liga club Barcelona and the Netherlands national team.

Born in Gorinchem, de Jong began his professional career at Willem II in 2015, but transferred to Ajax for a fee of €1 a year later. In the Dutch capital, starring as a defensive midfielder, he established himself as one of the best young players in Europe. In July 2019 he transferred to Spanish club Barcelona, having agreed to sign for them in a deal worth an initial €75m fee.

In 2018, de Jong made his senior international debut for the Netherlands.
