Michael Baldisimo (born April 13, 2000) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays for San Jose Earthquakes in MLS.
After the 2022 season, following the expiry of his contract with Vancouver Whitecaps FC, he was selected by the San Jose Earthquakes in the 2022 MLS Re-Entry Draft.
Career
Vancouver Whitecaps FC
Baldisimo signed with Whitecaps FC 2 on March 9, 2017. He would spend one season with Whitecaps FC 2 before the club ceased operations after the 2017 season.
Baldisimo signed a multi-year contract with Vancouver Whitecaps FC on July 17, 2018. He made his MLS debut on August 25, 2020, starting in a 2–0 away defeat to the Montreal Impact, and scored his first goal the following week in a 3–2 home victory over Toronto FC.
International
Baldisimo was born in Canada and is of Filipino descent. In May 2018, Baldisimo was named to Canada's under-21 squad for the 2018 Toulon Tournament. March 10, 2021he was named to the Canadian U20 squad for the 2018 CONCACAF U-20 Championship, and on March 10, 2021 Baldisimo was named to the Canadian Under-23 squad for the 2020 CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualifying Championship.
Baldisimo received an invitation to play for the Philippines senior national team in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers. However Baldisimo, who was still expecting to receive a call up from the Canadian senior team, declined the offer.
