Jason Robertson (born July 22, 1999) is an American professional ice hockey left winger for the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League (NHL).
Playing career
Robertson was drafted 39th overall in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft by the Dallas Stars. On May 3, 2018, he signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Stars. On February 13, 2020, Robertson was called up to the Stars and made his NHL debut that night against the Toronto Maple Leafs, picking up an assist in the game. On April 15, 2021, Robertson became the fastest player in Dallas Stars history to record 30 points in his rookie season. After the 2020–21 season Robertson was named to the NHL All-Rookie Team and placed second for the Calder Memorial Trophy.
Personal life
Robertson is of Filipino descent through his mother, Mercedes, who was born in Manila, and Scottish from his father, Hugh. His younger brother, Nicholas Robertson, was drafted in the second round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs. Jason has an older brother, Michael, and a younger sister, Bri. Robertson is the second Filipino-American to play in the NHL, after Tim Stapleton and the third NHL player of Filipino descent, after Stapleton and Matt Dumba.
