Description
The family-run STP Racing squad ran under the Welch Motorsport name from 2011 to 2013, with Dan Welch the only driver in the one car squad. For the first time in its BTCC career, the team will expand to two cars for 2014 running newly-signed Ollie Jackson alongside Welch in a second NGTC Proton.
The small squad’s determination has made it one of the most popular in the pit lane, and won the HiQ Champagne Moment award at Oulton Park in 2012 for a spirited performance from driver Dan to score the team’s best result to date of sixth place. With two cars in its garage for the first time, the newly-named STP Racing with Sopp + Sopp will be looking to capitalise on the increased amount of data and score some strong results this season.
