Description Available in: The Nissan Formula E Team are an international motorsport team, set to compete in the 2022/23 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship as the factory Nissan team. The team would be formed after Nissan's acquisition of the e.Dams entry from DAMS, with whom they had partnered since joining the series in 2018/19 in place of Renault.
Nissan announced their purchase of the e.Dams Formula E squad on 12 April 2022, as a means to reinforce their base in the FIA Formula E World Championship ahead of the 2022/23 season. The decision would mean that DAMS left FE, having been a founding member of the Series back in 2014/15, with Nissan instead choosing their junior single-seater rivals ART Grand Prix to help develop their Generation 3 design. Nissan had initially purchased a minor stake in e.Dams when they partnered with the French squad in 2018/19, before engaging the Driot brothers in purchasing the entry outright after the death of their father and DAMS founder Jean-Paul Driot.
