Sportpark De Roggewoning is the accommodation of the country club HCC Groen-Geel , hockey club HGC and football club Graaf Willem II VAC in Wassenaar .
The sports park was opened on October 19, 1930 . The name derives from the fact that rye was previously grown on that piece of land. Due to the construction of the Railway to Scheveningen , the piece of land had become unprofitable for agriculture. Graaf Willem II VAC football club and Groen-Geel hockey and country club were the first players. From 1939 the predecessors of the current HGC ( HOC and Gazellen) also settled on the complex. These clubs merged in 1951 .
