Description Available in: Hyères Var Basket (commonly abbreviated as HTV) is a French Toulon basketball club founded in 1990 and based in the towns of Hyères and Toulon. The club won the Pro B playoffs in 2001, allowing it for the first time in its history to play among the elite of French basketball.
Due to poor management that caused serious financial problems, the Var club was administratively relegated to the French National 3, 5 and Division, in 2018. HTV then lost its professional status. The following season, the club returned to N2 sportingly after a season largely dominated in group A.
Gilles García, general director of the Loudane Group, will assume the presidency of the club in June 2021 with the ambition of regaining professional status. Laurent Sciarra, former HTV player, was named first team coach in September 2021 with the aim of reaching NM1. The club returns to NM1 at the end of the 2021-2022 season and to Pro B at the end of the 2023-2024 season.
