DYNAVOLT INTACT GP enters its seventh season in one of the toughest motorcycle racing series, the Moto2™ World Championship. In the last six years, the team has grown to a significant part of the MotoGP Motorcycle World Championship .
The team was founded by Stefan Keckeisen, owner of Keckeisen Accumulators in Memmingen, Wolfgang Kuhn, owner of Kuhn Bau in Bad Wurzach, and Jürgen Lingg, who acts as team manager and technician manager.
The bikes of the racing team are equipped with a chassis from Kalex Engineering and a suspension of Öhlins. Starting with the 2019 season, a new era begins in the Moto2 class with using 765cc three-cylinder Triumph engines for the first year.
In 2013, DYNAVOLT INTACT GP started its journey in the intermediate category of the MotoGP™ Championship as a one-rider line-up with Sandro Cortese, who won the Moto3™ title in 2012. After three years in this constellation, the young Bavarian Jonas Folger joined the DYNAVOLT INTACT GP pit box in 2016 and achieved the first Moto2 victory for the team in Brno, Czech Republic, that same year.
It was quickly decided who would be a worthy successor for Jonas Folger, who after just one year in the team climbed up to the top league of motorcycle racing, the MotoGP™ class. With Marcel Schrötter another German talent could be signed.
The Grand Premio de Valencia in November 2017 marked the end of Sandro Cortese's era with the DYNAVOLT INTACT GP team. Five years, in which he and the Allgäu squad competed 88 races, achieved 7 front row starting positions and celebrated unforgettable 3 podiums - 2014 in Brno, 2015 in Japan and 2016 in Australia.
From 2018 it was Xavi Vierge, who joined the team from Germany. The young Spaniard and Marcel Schrötter took three excellent podiums throughout an exciting year (Schrötter 1 x 3rd place in Misano, Vierge 1 x 2nd place in Argentina & 1 x 3rd place in Australia) and were able to race into the front row for eleven times (Schrötter 7 x; Vierge 4 x).
Starting next year, Swiss racing blood will mix with the German community. The Moto2 Vice World Champion of 2016 and 2017, Tom Lüthi, will compete in the 2019 season alongside Marcel Schrötter in the DYNAVOLT INTACT GP colours.
