The Cisne Handball Club of Pontevedra is a sports association founded in 1964. It owes its name to the fact that the swan was the emblem of the Youth Front , a youth association of the FET and the JONS . The Club Cisne Balonmano de Pontevedra, is a sports association, which was founded in 1964, and which initially brought together all kinds of sports activities with the youth of the city, standing out in sports as different as athletics, basketball, volleyball, canoeing and handball.

With the passage of time, when the sport became a regular activity in Pontevedra , and the appearance of clubs in the different disciplines became clear, the club was settling in one of the most deeply rooted sports in Pontevedra, such as handball.

Thus, from the year 1970, the Swan Handball Club began to stand out in the various championships of this sport, with a priority in all its actions, working with the grassroots sport, reaching an enormous reputation in national handball as the cradle of a one of the brightest quarries of handball players in Galicia .

The most important achievements of the club include the 6 Galician Junior category championships, the 3 Galician Juniors championships, the 4 Galician Cadet category championships. Likewise, and as the greatest achievement at the national level, the 4th place achieved in the Spanish Junior category championship, in Granollers, in 1978. Likewise, and as a result of all this work with the age categories, the senior team of the Club was increasing its category and quality, until reaching in 1981 the promotion to the Silver category of Spanish handball, maintaining enormous rivalry duels, with Teucro himself from Pontevedra, or the current Octavio Academy, and always with totally "amateur" players, all of them from the city and trained in the Club's base categories. For several seasons, he remained in this Division of Honor "B", and then and after beginning the professionalization of the discipline, go down to the Second National Handball Division, where he was for 8 seasons, until in 2000, and after win in the Promotion Phase held in Alcalá de Henares ( Madrid ), the promotion to the 1st Spanish National is again achieved, where he will serve until the 2014-2015 season, in which he gets promotion and return to the Division of Honor Silver almost 30 years later.

In the 2019/2020 season, the club is proclaimed champion of the Silver Honor Division, thus achieving its first promotion to the Asobal League .
