Description The Boca Raton Championship (newly named TimberTech Championship) is a golf tournament on the PGA Tour Champions. Since 2007, it has been played at the Old Course at Broken Sound Club in Boca Raton, Florida.
The purse in 2019 was $1.7 million, with a winner's share of $255,000.
PGA TOUR Champions announced an agreement for AZEK’s brand TimberTech,to serve as the title sponsor of the Tour’s longstanding event in Boca Raton. The newly named TimberTech Championship will return to The Old Course at Broken Sound.
The annual PGA TOUR Champions event has been contested in Boca Raton since 2007, producing winners such as World Golf Hall of Fame member Bernhard Langer (2010, 2019) and major champions Tom Lehman (2011), Corey Pavin (2012) and Mark Calcavecchia (2018).
Since its inception, the TimberTech Championship has generated over $2 million for local charities through the Boca Raton Champions Golf Charities (BRCGC), with the Boca Raton Regional Hospital serving as the primary charitable beneficiary.
The 2020 TimberTech Championship final leaderboard is headed by winner Darren Clarke, who picked up his first PGA Tour Champions win with a one-shot victory at The Old Course at Broken Sound in Boca Raton, Fla.
Clarke made a birdie on the final hole to beat out Bernhard Langer and Jim Furyk on 17-under 199. A closing 68 was good enough to secure the win.
