Description

The Northern Trust, formerly The Barclays, is a golf tournament on the PGA Tour that rotates between the New York City area and Boston area. Since 2007, it has been played as the first tournament of the playoff system for the FedEx Cup. The field is limited to the top 125 players on the FedEx points list for the regular season.
The event takes place Aug 19-22 and has a prize fund of $9,500,000

After Tropical Storm Henri delayed the conclusion of the tournament Tony Finau won the second victory of his PGA TOUR career at THE NORTHERN TRUST on Monday evening, after more than five years and 142 tournaments without winning. He edged Cameron Smith on the first playoff hole to win the tournament, after the final pair went to the playoff tied at 20-under
