Video Highlights Description The CP Women's Open is a women's professional golf tournament managed by Golf Canada. It has been Canada's national championship tournament since its founding in 1973, and is an official event on the LPGA Tour.
Originally a three-round (54-hole) tournament for its first six years; it has been a four-round (72-hole) tournament since 1978. From 1979 through 2000, the event was one of the LPGA Tour's four major championships. In 2001, it was replaced in the LPGA's roster of majors by the Women's British Open, an existing event which was already a major on the Ladies European Tour.
In 2018 Brooke Henderson became the first Canadian in 45 years, and only the second ever after Jocelyne Bourassa won the inaugural event in 1973, to win Canada's national open.
The event takes place Aug 26-29 and has a prize fund of $2,350,000.
Due to logistical challenges and continued border restrictions related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Golf Canada, title sponsor Canadian Pacific (CP), and the LPGA Tour have announced that the 2021 CP Women’s Open at Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club in Vancouver, has been cancelled.
