Description

The MotoGP World Championship comes to Silverstone for one of the most traditional weekends in motorcycling.
Before 1977, the only British round was the Isle of Man TT, which was part of the FIM championship from its inauguration in 1949 until 1976.
The inaugural British motorcycle Grand Prix, the first motorcycle Grand Prix to be held on the British mainland, took place at the Silverstone Circuit. The event was moved to Donington Park in 1987 before returning to Silverstone in 2010.

Fabio Quartararo has extended his MotoGP title lead with a fifth victory of the season in the 2021 British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
The Monster Yamaha star was joined on the podium by Alex Rins (his first rostrum of the season) and an emotional Aleix Espargaro, who won a thrilling last-lap duel with Jack Miller to make history with the RS-GP's best-ever result.
