The European Tour 2022 comprises thirteen events, which will be held in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Gibraltar.
The 32 best players, after the thirteen European Tour events qualify for the European Championship, which will take place at the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund in October 2022.
The 2022 International Darts Open will be the first of thirteen PDC European Tour events on the 2022 PDC Pro Tour. The tournament will take place at the SACHSENarena, Riesa from 25 to 27 February 2022. It will feature a field of 48 players and £140,000 in prize money, with £25,000 going to the winner.
All games up to and including the quarter-finals are the best of 11 legs, with the semi-finals the best of 13 legs and the final the best of 15 legs.
Joe Cullen is the defending champion after defeating Michael van Gerwen 8–5 in the 2020 final.
