Event Statistics Description
The intermediate class took to the Autódromo Internacional Ayrton Senna in Goiânia for a high-speed showdown under the Brazilian sun. The primary challenge for the 2026 grid was a newly surfaced track that demanded precise throttle control to manage tire degradation over the 26-lap distance. For polesitter Daniel Holgado, the objective was to convert his qualifying dominance into a first victory of the season, while the tactical priority for his teammate David Alonso was to recover quickly from a front-row start after struggling with launch consistency in practice.
Strategically, the race was a battle of attrition and slipstreaming. The objective for the lead group was to break the tow early to avoid a multi-rider brawl on the long start-finish straight. With temperatures soaring to 30°C, the goal for the field was to preserve the rear Pirelli tires for a late-race charge. As the lights went out, the focus shifted to the technical Sector 2, where the tight radii of the corners provided the best opportunity for the brave to make up ground before the fast, flowing final sector.

Result DescriptionDaniel Holgado (CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team) delivered a masterclass in defensive riding to win the 2026 Brazilian Grand Prix, securing the championship lead in the process. After leading the majority of the race from pole, Holgado faced a "fierce" challenge from Daniel Muñoz in the closing stages. Muñoz briefly snatched the lead with three laps to go at Turn 10, but Holgado responded instantly, reclaiming the position on the following straight. A decisive final lap allowed Holgado to cross the line with a 1.226-second margin, marking his third career Moto2 victory.
The battle for the final podium spot saw Manuel Gonzalez (LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP) break the heart of Alex Escrig with a bold last-lap move. Escrig, who had achieved a career-best qualifying of third, held the podium position for much of the race but drifted wide at Turn 4 on the final tour, allowing Gonzalez to slip through. David Alonso completed the top five after fending off a late-race resurgence from Izan Guevara and Tony Arbolino. The race was notably fast, with Holgado setting a new all-time lap record of 1:21.920 on his way to the top step.
