Event Statistics Description
The return of the world championship to Brazil at the Autódromo Internacional Ayrton Senna in Goiânia presented a high-stakes challenge for the Moto3 field. The primary objective for the young riders was to master the 3.835km circuit's abrasive surface and tight, technical layout, which had already caused several high-side incidents during practice. For championship leader David Almansa, the goal was to extend his early-season momentum, while polesitter Joel Esteban aimed to convert his first career pole into a maiden victory.
Strategically, the race was a test of patience under the hot Brazilian sun. The objective for the front-runners was to manage tire wear on the soft Pirelli rubber, which many feared would drop off in the final laps. With the characteristic Moto3 slipstream battles expected on the long straights, the tactical priority for the field was to remain within the lead "train" while avoiding the mid-pack "chaos" that often leads to contact. As the lights went out, the focus was on surviving the technical Turn 4, a corner that had already claimed several favorites throughout the weekend.

Result DescriptionMáximo Quiles (CFMOTO Gaviota Inde Aspar Team) claimed a dramatic victory in the 2026 Brazilian Grand Prix after a red-flag interruption turned the race into a frantic five-lap dash. The original race was halted on Lap 15 following a crash by Scott Ogden, whose bike could not be cleared in time. Before the stoppage, Quiles had inherited a massive four-second lead after the previous leader, David Almansa, suffered a heavy high-side crash at Turn 4. Despite his lead being neutralized by the restart, Quiles kept his composure to fend off a late-charging teammate for the win.
The podium was a historic affair, as Marco Morelli secured a career-first podium in second place, completing a 1-2 finish for the Aspar team. Even more significant was the performance of Veda Pratama (Honda Team Asia), who finished third to become the first Indonesian rider in history to stand on a Grand Prix podium. Pratama's tactical brilliance during the five-lap sprint saw him slice through the lead group to secure the milestone result. Further down the order, Álvaro Carpe and Guido Pini rounded out the top five, while polesitter Joel Esteban was unable to finish after a crash of his own earlier in the day.
