Superpole Race

Jonathan Rea levels Alvaro Bautista on race wins for the season with victory in the Superpole sprint race at the 2019 finale in Qatar. The newly crowned World Superbike champion bolted from pole position to take a lights-to-flag victory for his 16th win of the year – equalling Bautista’s victory haul – to set up a final-race decider.
Bautista charged up the order to take second place but couldn’t close the gap to Rea over the second half of the 10-lap race as he had to settle for second place on the Aruba.it Racing Ducati.
Alex Lowes fended off Leon Haslam to complete the podium for Pata Yamaha on his final outing for the team.

Race 2

Jonathan Rea finishes his championship-winning 2019 World Superbike campaign with his 17th win to tie up a hat-trick of victories in Qatar.
Rea initially traded overtakes for the lead with Alvaro Bautista, with the pair tied on 16 wins so far this year, before breaking the Aruba.it Racing Ducati rider by mid-race distance to begin to build a comfortable lead.
Davies held off Bautista for second place in the sprint to the chequered flag, as Alex Lowes captured third place in the overall riders’ championship thanks to fourth place on his final outing for Pata Yamaha.
Rea eased to a Losail International Circuit hat-trick and his 17th win of the season – matching the record outright for most wins in a single season from his own effort in 2018 and Doug Polen’s 17 wins in 1991.

For the first time ever in World Superbike, a Japanese manufacturer has achieved a fifth consecutive Manufacturers’ title, with Kawasaki continuing their dominance in 2019.
