is it possible to get the correct Olympics team squads, (mainly soccer) . At the moment we have the correct 16 teams but with the wrong squads, clicking France for example shows 26 players, none of whom are are in the Olympics squad.
Adding players links to other events, World Cup, European Championships, Copa America etc. ?

I think we could create separate teams for soccer like "France Olympics" this is how a site like Flashscore handles it. What makes soccer unique is the age limit, I think other sports are fine to use the national team (handball, baseball, etc.). We could also name them "France U23", but for this Olympics because of COVID it is technically U24. I don't have a strong opinion on what we should do, what might determine it is how the teams are labeled in API Football?

Since 1992 male competitors have been required to be under 23 years old; since 1996, a maximum of three over-23-year-old players have been allowed per squad.[a] African countries have taken particular advantage of this, with Nigeria and Cameroon winning in 1996 and 2000 respectively.

Associations affiliated with FIFA may send teams to participate in the tournament. There are no age restrictions on women's teams, while men's teams are restricted to under-24 players (born on or after 1 January 1997) with a maximum of three overage players allowed. The men's tournament is typically restricted to under-23 players, though following the postponement of the Olympics by a year, FIFA decided to maintain the restriction of players born on or after 1 January 1997.

The automatic inputting of squads has nothing to do with what is on their team page, that is just for display purposes and API lookups. The squad information depends on whether the competition is supported with an API ID number and I've yet to see anything for the Olympics with the regular provider.

I also agree that a separate Olympic soccer team be setup rather than using the pre-existing teams.

I prefer to avoid creating new soccer teams for Olympics. I guess that currently they don't match as Euro, Copa America, etc are still running; but once they finish, they can be updated

Olympic soccer is pretty unique due to the U23 age limits.

A separate team probably the way to go as it bears no relation to normal international football. In England its complicated even further due to the inclusion of Scotland, Wales and northern Ireland players into a single "Great Britain" squad.

Happy with whatever people choose though.
