Rema Lascelles joined Riders late in pre-season last autumn, and gradually worked his way into the line-up helping the team to three pieces of silverware in the 2017/18 season.
Over the course of last season Rema averaged over 16 minutes a game as back-up point guard, and was often playing in the crucial last few minutes of games, as Riders completed a treble of trophies. While averaging 3 points and 3 rebounds a game, Lascelles shot a solid 54% from the floor, and over 33% from the three point line. But it was his defence and distribution that were key, and he averaged over 4 assists a game, including a season high 12.
Lascelles earned a basketball scholarship over 4 years at the University of Hawaii, where he averaged 4 points, 3 rebounds and over 2 assists a game in his senior year. He spent his first season as a pro in the lower leagues in Germany, before joining Riders for his first professional season in the UK.
