Robinson José Canó Mercedes (born October 22, 1982) is a Dominican-American professional baseball second baseman who is currently a free agent. He previously played in MLB for the New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners, New York Mets, San Diego Padres, and Atlanta Braves.
He made his MLB debut with the New York Yankees on May 3, 2005, played for them through the 2013 season, and was a member of their 2009 World Series winning team over the Philadelphia Phillies. He played for the Seattle Mariners from 2014 through 2018. He has represented the Dominican Republic in international play, including winning both the gold medal and Most Valuable Player Award (MVP) of the 2013 World Baseball Classic (WBC) tournament.
