Samuel Deane "Sam" Lowes (born 14 September 1990) is a British motorcycle racer originally from Lincoln, Lincolnshire competing in the Moto2 World Championship for Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 during 2019. He is the twin brother of World Superbike rider Alex Lowes.
He won the Supersport World Championship 2013 riding a Yamaha YZF-R6 for Russian team Yakhnich Motorsport in the championship, as well as the 2010 British Supersport champion riding a Honda CBR600RR.
2013 WorldSSP Champion Sam Lowes moved to Moto2™ in 2014 and after a rookie year of learning the Brit took his first win at the Circuit of the Americas in 2015. Another four podiums with the Speed Up squad that year then saw him move to Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 for 2016; a title challenger from the start and taking another six podiums – of which two were wins. Lowes moved up with Gresini to the Aprilia Racing Team Gresini premier class effort for 2017, and had a tough season but did score his first premier class points. For 2018 he returned to Moto2™ with KTM, but after a difficult season, Lowes rejoins Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 in 2019 as he aims to challenge for the title.
