Jaume Masia hails from Valencia in Spain and after starting racing at the age of six, he quickly ascended through the ranks to win the Spanish 140cc Championship just three years later, alongside the Valencian 150cc title. He would continue this promising form in road racing to claim sixth in the Spanish PreMoto3 Championship in his debut year of 2013 before landing a ride in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup for the following season. After a year in the Moto3™ Junior World Championship in 2016 with the Junior Team Estrella Galicia 0,0, Masia moved to the Valencian-run Cuna de Campeones outfit for the following season and was quick immediately, eventually claiming two victories in Aragon and Valencia at the end of the year. Mid-way through the season, Masia was called up to replace the injured Darryn Binder at the Austrian Grand Prix; showing himself to be a quick learner, he finished ninth on his World Championship debut and was signed immediately for a full-time ride in 2018. He was Rookie of the Year at the Bester Capital Dubai squad and stays with the team for 2019.
