Derek Robert Law (born September 14, 1990) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Washington Nationals organization. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the San Francisco Giants, Toronto Blue Jays, Minnesota Twins, Detroit Tigers and Cincinnati Reds.
Early life
Law attended Seton-La Salle Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and played for the school's baseball team. He was a two-time Pittsburgh All-Area baseball selection (2008 and 2009), The Texas Rangers selected Law in the 28th round of the 2009 Major League Baseball draft, but he did not sign.
College career
Law attended Miami Dade College. In his sophomore year at Miami Dade, Law posted an 8–5 win–loss record with a 2.35 earned run average (ERA) while striking out 121 batters in 92 innings pitched.
