The team was born almost 20 years ago, first known as BQR and in the last few seasons as Avintia Racing and during this time, hundreds of riders could see their dreams come true riding in the Spanish Championship and the World Championship.
Alvaro Bautista, Julian Simon, Luis Salom, Yonny Hernandez, Aleix Espargaro, Toni Elias, Efren Vazquez... are some of riders that have been part of Avintia Racing in the past and still racing at world level.
In 2015 Avintia Racing was fighting for the Open Class title with the support of Ducati Corse and Hector Barbera and Mike Di Meglio on two Ducati Desmosedici GP14.1 with the ECU and software provided by Dorna. At the end of the season Barberá won the Open title in the MotoGP championship during the final round of the season at Valencia.
The 2016 season saw the Spanish team confirm Hector Barberà and this time he will be joined by Frenchman Loris Baz. The Spanish rider had an excellent championship, finishing in tenth place just a few points behind Andrea Iannone. On the other hand the Frenchman's MotoGP learning curve was tougher than expected, but he managed to finish the season in twentieth place with a good fourth place at Brno as his best result.
The team has more recently been known as Reale Avintia Racing.
Xavier Simeon and Tito Rabat will compete the 2018 season.
