Immortals is a professional esports organization based in the United States. It was founded on October 7, 2015, after the acquisition of the LCS spot of Team 8. Immortals applied for a franchise spot in the LCS when the league began franchising in late 2017, but their application was declined by Riot due to financial concerns and despite the fact that they were one of three North American teams to qualify for the 2017 World Championship. However, in mid-2019 they rejoined the LCS after their parent company, Immortals Gaming Club, bought out OpTic Gaming and their LCS spot. Since its debut as a League of Legends team, Immortals has since expanded into the professional scenes of Arena of Valor, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, Overwatch, Rainbow Six Siege, Super Smash Bros and Vainglory.
