Dan Lawrence made his First-Class debut in 2015 and, in only his second County Championship match, the right hander scored 161 against Surrey at the Kia Oval. This made him the third youngest ever scorer of a century in County Championship history, at the age of just 17 years and 290 days.
Further progress followed in 2016 and 2017 and the 20-year-old has emerged as one of the finest talents in the English game. In 2017 he was named as Young Cricketer of the Year by the Cricket Writers’ Club after his 761 runs at 44.76, including three hundreds, helped the Club win the championship for the first time in 25 years. He also made is England Lions debut and was selected for a Lions training camp in Australia and the Caribbean.
