Description

Blackpool came from behind to maintain their unbeaten League One start with a draw at home to Portsmouth.

Marcus Harness handed Pompey the advantage but Armand Gnanduillet's header ensured the spoils were shared at Bloomfield Road.

The visitors took the lead in the 17th minute when John Marquis was tackled in the area and Harness curled the follow-up past Jak Alnwick.

Marquis then drove at the Blackpool rearguard, going close with a powerful shot that was deflected off target.

After the break, Christian Burgess's vital block denied Gnanduillet after a flowing move involving Sullay Kaikai and Ollie Turton.

But Gnanduillet made no mistake with a towering header from Liam Feeney's cross before the hour to draw the Seasiders level with his fifth of the season.

After Joe Nuttall's close-range header was deflected behind, Gnanduillet then nearly got his second after meeting Kaikai's corner with 20 minutes left.

Alnwick was sharp to keep Marquis off the scoresheet shortly after with a low block, while Ronan Curtis fizzed a shot wide as full-time approached.
